Self Regulation 3

Self-Regulation Therapy

Self-regulation is key to emotional and behavioural management. Our OTs provide strategies and tools to help clients understand and manage their emotions, behaviours, and impulses. We teach mindfulness, relaxation techniques, and coping strategies tailored to each client’s needs and situations.

Our therapists also focus on helping clients develop awareness of their emotional states and triggers. This involves recognising early signs of stress or frustration and employing strategies to manage them effectively. We practice these skills in therapy sessions and provide guidance for implementing them in real-life situations.

Collaboration with families is essential in self-regulation therapy. We offer coaching to parents and caregivers, providing them with tools and techniques to support their child’s emotional and behavioral development. This ensures a consistent approach across different environments and maximises the impact of therapy.
